Our story so far
With a shared love of fashion and a dream to set up their business, the seed for Katie & Jo was planted over a glass of wine on a balmy summer evening in 2009, just after moving in to a flat together in Shepherds Bush. Jo came from an eclectic background including personal training and art, and Katie worked in banking. Both of them felt the need to embrace their creative and adventurous side.
‘Katie & Jo is aimed at modern women who need comfort and easy to wear things but not at the expense of style. Our customer is well aware of the fashion trends but shop to suit their own individuality rather than relying entirely on the dictates of the season. Our ambition is to provide these women with a personal and enjoyable shopping experience by offering a carefully curated selection of clothing and accessories from around the world, which will make them stand out from the crowd. Styling advice is always at hand either from one of us or from our passionate and knowledgeable staff.’
Today Katie & Jo has a second store in Wandsworth co-founded with Katie Gibbs who first joined their team in 2012 covering Jo on Maternity Leave. Katie has an extensive fashion background and together they have combined their strengths and knowledge to make Katie & Jo the unique shopping destination it is today.
Katie lives in Wandsworth and is mummy to Flo and Amber. A trained stylist, she loves helping customers curate that perfect outfit and sourcing new discoveries which she knows the Katie & Jo customer will adore. Katie loves timeless, comfortable pieces which she can update with more fashion forward pieces as the trends change.
Jo lives in Southfields with her three children, Theadora, Chloe and William. She describes her style as casual and cool with a touch of glamour. She loves both the buying and the selling side of the business and says she feels a great sense of pride when she sees customers leaving the store with a Katie & Jo bag and a smile on their face.
Katie describes her style as girly yet laid-back. Her day-to-day wardrobe is grounded by cosy knitwear and good denim. She loves colour and details which adds an element of fun into her everyday style. 'Always invest in good basics then buy in to seasonal trends which work for you.'
